1910 M116 Sporting Life New York Yankees  Baseball cards

The M116 Sporting Life cards were offered to subscribers of Sporting Life paper in the early part of the 20th century. These cards measure 1-1/2 x 2-5/8 (inches) but can vary in sizes moreso than other cards produced during the same era. Card fronts feature a color tinted black-and-white portrait with the name and team printed along the bottom white border. A lot of the same poses from the T206 set are used in the M116 set. There are 3 different backs used and all 3 are ads for the Sporting Life paper. These cards were issued in 24 series of 12 cards each (287 cards), sold by mail for 4 cents per series. Each series was distributed in an envelope with a series checklist.
