Doug Drabek was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 11th round of the 1983 amateur draft and traded to the New York Yankees in 1984. He made his major league pitching debut for the Yankees in 1986 winning 7 games and losing 8. He was traded to the Pirates the next season where he became and All Star and ace pitcher for the Pirates for the next 6 seasons. Doug won 15 or more games 4 times in 6 seasons including 22 in 1990 and the NL Cy Young Award! After 3 straight losses in the NLCS, the Pirates traded Drabek away to the Houston Astros where he continued to pitch well and was named to the All Star team in 1994. He finished his career in 1998 with the Orioles after one season in Chicago. In 13 seasons, Doug won 155 games, lost 134 with an ERA of 3.73.
