Jackie Delane Aker was a big, sidearm throwing, right handed pitcher for 11 seasons in the majors. Jack came up with the Kansas City A's in 1964 and led the league in saves in 1966 with 32 and had an ERA of 1.99, a record at the time. Jack came out of the bullpen his entire career. He played in Seattle for a short stint and then in New York with the Yankees for 3 seasons. He led the Yankees in saves in 1969 and 1970. He was traded to the Cubs in 1972 and led them in saves. In 1974 he was traded to Atlanta and then to the Mets before retiring at the end of the 1974 season. Jack won 47 games and saved 123. He had a career ERA of 3.28.
