Ralph Terry New York Yankees Baseball cards

Ralph Terry Ralph Terry was signed by the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent in 1953 and made his major league pitching debut in 1956. Ralph was traded to the Kansas City A's in 1957 but after 2 seasons in Kansas City and the Yankees got him back. Despite giving up the most famous home run in World Series history, Bill Mazeroski's 9th inning game winner in the 7th game of the 1960 World Series, Terry became a solid performer in the Yankees starting rotation. He won 23 games in 1962 and made the All Star team. He helped redeem himself and the Yankees in the 1961 and 1962 World Series and captured the 1962 World Series MVP award. After 5 plus seasons with the Yankees and 5 straight AL Pennants, Terry was traded to the Cleveland Indians in 1965 were he won 11 games. In 1966 Ralph was back in Kansas City for a short stint and then he was traded to the Mets. He finished his career with the Mets in 1967. Ralph played 12 seasons, won 107 games, lost 99 with an ERA of 3.62.
